Here at Tourism Whistler, we think Whistler is an unparalalled meeting destination. But don't take our word for it, see what previous planners and participants had to say...
Pamela Jordan - Emerson Commercial & Residential Solutions
“Last week’s event was great. The venue, the food and the service were all outstanding. Zero complaints! My compliments to the chef! The food at the Conference Centre was phenomenal. The entire team at Tourism Whistler exceeded our expectations for a second year in a row. You all do a great job!“
Robert Haller - Canadian Water and Wastewater Association
“I have to admit I was hesitant to hold our national conference in Whistler for fears of travels concerns and the optics of a resort location...but apparently that's exactly what my delegates wanted. We broke all previous records for attendance at our national event - more delegates, more exhibitors and more revenue. We beat all our best hopes.”
“Not only did we get more delegates, we attracted the more senior level delegates that we had wanted to reach...and that attracts more sponsors/exhibitors. Our delegates are a healthy mix of municipal, provincial and federal government employees with private sector consultants and suppliers. Whistler was on their bucket list of places they wanted to see...and the Chateau Whistler delivered on that dream.”
“Every location has its pros and cons. A downtown site may seem easy, but the prices and room rates are not that easy, and there are many other distractions to pull your delegates away. We really liked the intimacy of holding an event in Whistler, and especially in the Upper Village. Maybe some commutes are a paIn, but not the trip to Whistler. Either rent a car for a fun and beautiful drive, or relax in the shuttle, take pictures and use the wifi. (I tried to use the wifi, but the view was too spectacular to look at my emails). Even with the shuttle fee included, the costs for the delegate was better than downtown or airport sites. And honestly, the shuttle up to Whistler is no different than the plane/bus transfers required for most other sites (Kelowna, St.John's, Banff, etc.) and most airports can seem that far from the downtown.”
“Our exhibitors were very pleased with our conference in Whistler. The Fairmont Chateau Whistler was perfect and the conference support services wre wonderful. I did not receive one complaint from any exhibitors about getting themselves or their displays to Whistler.”
April Taylor - Taylor & Associates
“Planning a 1000 delegate conference in Whistler was made so easy, both from the proposal side as well as the actual planning side, thanks to Tourism Whistler and their staff.
They truly provide a one-stop shop and can handle any request, large or small, in an immediate way. From ground transportation to hotels, the Conference Centre and various activities, restaurant recommendations and gifts, the whole Tourism Whistler family work together to make the client’s experience effortless and extremely enjoyable.
I am just starting to enter the final phases of our spring conference and am already looking forward to the next opportunity to book Whistler. Tourism Whistler proves that working together reaps rewards well beyond the expected!“
Curtis O’Nyon - Sussex Consulting
“Whistler was a fantastic destination for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Annual Conference. We had our largest turnout ever (nearly 3000 delegates, spouses and exhibitors) as people were definitely attracted to this unique destination.
The Conference Centre and hotels were great to work with and delivered on all of our expectations and requests. The village itself offers great restaurants, a vibrant nightlife and an abundance of activities ranging from Zip-lining to kicking back on one of the numerous patios.
All-in-all it was a first class experience, starting with the easy transfer from the airport to the village, right through the mountain -top reception. Thanks to Whistler tourism for all the help you folks know how to do it right.”
Lisa Doyle B.Comm, M.B.A - Xerox Finance Division
“We had a wonderful trip to whistler. Some of our attendees felt it was the one of our 'best' reward trips. Your assistance was very thorough and helpful. Thank you so much for encouraging our group to dine at Bearfoot Bistro. It was AMAZING. Thanks to the complete package of service, food and setting we had a most memorable evening and our group was exceptionally impressed. It really added to our overall experience in Whistler. Thanks again.”
Linda Hrycaj - Keystone Symposia
“We've been bringing scientific symposia to Whistler since 2001. Our attendees from around the world rave about the sites, facilities, and service. We are proud to partner with Tourism Whistler.”
Gretchen Doner - Director of Special Events, ADP
“I have received many comments from attendees that this was one of the best President's Clubs ever. Whistler offers beautiful scenery, great hotels, a diverse array of fun activities and warm, accommodating people. ADP will certainly return.”
Alistair Allen - Legal & General Assurance Society
“We brought the sunshine, melted some snow, tried a little rafting, biked, skied, kayaked, hiked, and left...now you have enrolled 350 new goodwill ambassadors for the Resort! The conference worked well from start to finish...superb catering...attentive courtesies and personal warmth...you delivered over and above.”
Lynda Cannell - Sports Medicine Council of BC
“We were very impressed with the service and very much appreciate your personal attention ensuring that our meeting was successful"
Jim Stanton - HelmsBriscoe
“First and foremost, the Ski experience at Whistler is second to none… easily one of the best venues in North America, if not the world. Our attendees literally skied until they had to stop from exhaustion, but with smiles on their faces.
You have numerous hotel options and the new ballroom at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler is big and beautiful. The hotels and the village work very well together to address the special needs of your group. Everyone in the town aims to please. The village is great and well laid out. Plenty of shops and restaurants to suit anyone's tastes.
For summer, the golf options are equally spectacular with just the right use of elevation in course layout. My only hesitation in recommending this place to anyone is purely selfish, but when a place is so uniquely wonderful and the people do such a good job, I suppose there is an obligation to pass it along.”
Dr. Brad Yee - BC Chiropractic Council
“The conference was outstanding...the facilities worked out great...my complements to you and your staff"
Phil Johnston - Future Shop
“...your service went over and above our optimistic expectations...your accommodation of our last minute, emergency needs far exceeded any obligation to us..."
Ann Hattes - Meetings in the West
“The breathtaking ride up the fully enclosed gondola is a highlight for groups holding functions in this unique venue...the Roundhouse Lodge sitting at the top of Whistler Mountain"
Jamie Parcells - Association Director
“Whistler has been ranked the premier ski resort in North America, and has become the ideal destination for vacationers, meetings and conventions, thanks in-part to presence of North America's longest vertical and an impressive and rapidly growing pedestrian-only village, featuring funky to chic restaurants, shops and accommodations."
